On the morning of July 26, 2023, a fire spread in the gazebo of Mourne Seafood Restaurant. The outdoor eating place under the gazebo, known as “The Shack,” was put to ashes during the incident.
The incident included a suspected arson attack. The whole outdoor eating area was destroyed during the incident.
The people believe the fire started by lighting a bin beside the gazebo, taking the whole gazebo in its wrath.
The police arrested a man, 37 years old, and he is in police custody. Later on, the man was charged with an arson attack fine. The arrested man is to have appeared before the judge on Saturday for further action.
Besides this, the police are further enquiring about the incident. If anyone knows anything about the incident, he/she is asked to report it immediately to the police with reference number 195.
“We received a report of a fire in the area at around 4:40 am, which is being treated as arson. It is believed a bin was set alight, which spread to a gazebo and a store.” says Inspector Edgar
